CMHA-WECB offers Workplace Outreach supports to International Agricultural Workers/Temporary Foreign Workers.
Our Workplace Outreach program promotes psychological health and safety in the workplace. Supporting mental health in workplaces improves recruitment and retention, employee engagement, health and safety, and sustainability; while decreasing absenteeism, turnover, benefit usage, workplace accidents and injuries, and shortens return to work times.
Our Workplace Outreach program allows us to meet individuals where they are at, in the community with access to interpreters to deliver our services in the mother tongue of the individuals seeking service.

Through this free, four-hour workshop, participants will cover the topics of stress, depression, anxiety, substance use and how to start a conversation around mental well-being. The workshops are facilitated by one of CMHA’s mental health professionals using ‘real-life’ examples from agriculture. Learn more about In The Know.

International Agricultural Worker Wellness Program
CMHA Windsor-Essex and CMHA Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk have partnered with Agriculture Wellness Ontario, a suite of agriculture focused programming delivered by CMHA Ontario Division, to deliver a new pilot program for international agricultural workers.
The International Agricultural Worker Wellness Program (IAWWP) will support international workers with managing stress, homesickness and isolation. The program will provide referrals to free local services, including recreational activities, primary care, counselling, support groups, in-person workshops and more.
The program will launch in early 2025 and be delivered over two years, with resources available in Spanish, French and English in year one, expanding to include Tagalog in year two. The program will focus on the Windsor-Essex region first and then expand to Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk in year two, as these two regions have large international worker populations. In the second year, the program will also offer support to farm operators with workshops on how to create safer workplaces.
This program is funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), a five-year (2023-28), $3.5-billion investment by federal, provincial and territorial governments to strengthen competitiveness, innovation and resiliency of Canada’s agriculture, agri‐food and agri‐based products sector.
