Peer Support Training

CMHA-WECB offers a Brief Introduction to Peer Support and Peer Support Core Competencies training, which will prepare the participant for the Peer Support Certification process and exam, available for a cost through Peer Support Canada.

Peer Support Core Competencies Training was developed by the Centre of Innovation in Peer Support / Support House. This training offers a comprehensive, best practice peer support training that is aligned with and built upon:

It further support that principles of trauma informed support, with an emphasis on developing overall psychological wellness.

The training consists of fifteen modules, each two hours in length.

             Session 6: Peer Support Relationships

             Session 11: Social Determinants of Health & Advocacy
             Session 12: Self-Determination & Stages of Change
             Session 13: Supporting Someone Experiencing Distress/Crisis
             Session 14: Wellness Planning
             Session 15: Resiliency & Wrap-up
