SEMINAR: Healthy Minds 4 Men 070826

Healthy Minds 4 Men was created to address the psychological, emotional, and social challenges faced by men. The program’s core aim is to provide a safe, stigma-free environment where men can engage in emotional exploration, vulnerability, mental health education, and peer support.
Recent data shows that men are significantly more likely to die by suicide, while also being less likely to access mental health services. In 2022, men represented 75% of all suicide deaths in Canada, with 2,686 male suicides out of 3,589 total. This program is intended to respond directly to this demographic with an evidence-informed, male-centered approach to suicide prevention/life promotion and mental health support.
Each week will cover a new topic, including:
- Exploring male specific stressors, social dynamics, and societal pressures
- Coping strategies: Trauma, addiction and mental health disorders in men
- Healing through accountability, communication and self-forgiveness
- Life promotion through introspection, passion and purpose
Dates: July 8, 15, 29 and August 5
Note: This seminar is being held in person at CMHA-WECB (1400 Windsor Ave., Windsor).
