CMHA celebrates National Volunteer Week
Mar 6, 2020
CMHA-WECB volunteers are a vital part of our team. By giving generously of their time, talents and energy to support the work of our organization throughout the year, volunteers make many of our programs possible.
That’s why from April 15 to 21, CMHA-WECB joins organizations across the country in celebrating Canada’s 12.7 million volunteers during National Volunteer Week. Volunteering can take many forms. At CMHAs across the country, volunteers are found working on special projects or programs, within fundraising activities such as Ride Don’t Hide, or serving on local boards. All of these activities help improve quality of life for individuals and families who are affected by mental health issues.
At CMHA-WECB, volunteers help by welcoming our clients and guests as Onsite Ambassadors, assisting in charity bingos, as board members, and in planning and assisting in events.
From all of us at CMHA-WECB, thank you to the amazing volunteers we work with every day. We truly appreciate your dedication in helping us support our community.
The reliance on our valuable volunteers is just one of the many ways that CMHA branches work to keep our services and supports available as we face rising operational expenses. This needs to change. Help us to #erasethedifference and fund mental health and addictions care the same as physical health care. With your help, we can send a strong message ahead of Ontario’s June 7, 2018 election.
