CMHA Windsor-Essex County’s Board of Directors leads with unwavering commitment and integrity. The Board’s regular Committees include Finance, Governance, and Quality, Risk, and Asset Management.
Our Board is skill-based, comprised of 11-19 proficient voting members and 1 ex-officio/non-voting member (our CEO). Representing diverse community backgrounds, the Board convenes a minimum of eight (8) times annually. Reach us at [email protected] or further information.

Melanie is Mohawk, wolf clan. She also has Irish/French blood. Melanie is a Gladue Writer in the Windsor satellite office of Aboriginal Legal Services.
Leann Sassine

Leann Sassine
Leann was born and raised in Windsor. She graduated from Windsor law in 2015 and was called to the Bar in 2016. She previously completed her MBA from the Odette School of Business in 2011. Leann’s practice has focused primarily on civil litigation and providing legal services to clients seeking wills and power of attorney documents. Leann achieved her Master of Laws from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 2021. Leann has been an advocate for the Windsor community for many years. She has previously served as the President of the Brain Injury Association of Windsor & Essex County and volunteered for several local organizations.
Leann is also a dedicated Instructor at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law and Odette School of Business. She is committed to enhancing the academic and general well-being of students, as is evidenced by her ongoing involvement as a member of the Board of Trustees for a student-led investment fund, a supervisor in a wills clinic for Pro Bono Students Canada and a mentor in the Windsor Legal Practice Simulation. Leann is an advocate for mental health in our society and is honoured to continue to serve her community on the Board of CMHA-WECB.
