New CEO for Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County

WINDSOR, ON – The Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch (CMHA-WECB) is delighted to announce that Claudia den Boer Grima is the new CEO effective April 6, 2015. “The Board of Directors is excited to welcome Claudia to lead CMHA-WECB,” says board chair, Don Atwell. “We look forward to Claudia’s leadership and expertise as she leads a team of 150 dedicated professionals. Claudia’s experience is highly regarded and will be a great asset as our agency continues to enhance the provision of quality community mental health services in Windsor-Essex County.”
Over the past 28 years Claudia has worked in health care, most recently as Regional Vice President, Cancer and Clinical Support Services Windsor Regional Hospital and Erie St. Clair Regional Cancer Care Program. Claudia has completed the Advanced Healthcare Leadership Program, has a Master of Science in Administration and is a registered Dietitian. Her community service includes the Board of Directors of the Windsor Family Health Team and past service on the Board of Directors of the House of Sophrosyne.

I look forward to being a part of a team that provides excellent services and empowers clients, and also actively engages in community development and education about mental health.”
Claudia replaces Mary C. Wilson who has held the dual role of Acting CEO/Director of Operations for the last four years. Mary will continue at CMHA-WECB as Director of Operations.
CMHA-WECB enhances and promotes the mental health of all persons and supports the resilience and recovery of people experiencing mental illness in our community through education, prevention, advocacy and services. The need for mental health services has never been greater with at least one in five Canadians affected by a mental illness in their lifetime.
